Green Lawn Fertilizing Gives Back to Arlington National Cemetery
The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), the national association of lawn care and landscape professionals, held its 15th Annual Renewal & Remembrance project at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, July 25, 2011. Hundreds of lawn care, tree and shrub specialists from across the country brought their teams to Arlington National Cemetery and Green Lawn Fertilizing was ever more present! Green Lawn Fertilizing has supported its community by donating our time and services for the past seven years.
The day commenced at Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremonial joint color guard and speaking presentations. Green Lawn Fertilizing, along with hundreds of others, spent the day spreading lime over 200 plus acres, planting and aerating the soil. With all products and services considered, the contributions are valued at more than $250,000!
Employees proud to honor our fallen heroes
Green Lawn Fertilizing employees look forward to this event every year. Green Lawn Fertilizing employees consider it a privilege to represent their own respective families by honoring loved ones and soldiers that have served America.
Tom Knopsnyder, VP of Operations, has brought his wife and two children the past few years to help give back to the community. “We really enjoy this day every year. Even the kids get a sense of the benefit they provide as they plant flowers throughout the cemetery.”
Kelly Anne Zynn, Office Associate at Green Lawn Fertilizing, had a very emotional and spiritual experience at Arlington National Cemetery. “As I walked into the cemetery it took my breath away, it was a very surreal feeling. It is a beautiful resting place for some of our greatest Americans, and very deserving.” Kelly went on to explain how privileged she felt participating with Green Lawn Fertilizing, “I must say, I felt very honored and proud that I had a chance to give a little back.”
