PLANET’s Renewal & Remembrance
Each year The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) puts on an event that brings together hundreds of its members to participate in the Renewal & Remembrance Beautification Project.
Green Lawn has participated in this event for the past 8 years, donating our time and services to support the community and our Nation’s fallen heros. We have found this event to be something that is truly great and deserves the recognition of all our employees and our community here in the Philadelphia Tri-State. Renewal & Remembrance brings together business owners, families, and employees of companies to put in a day of maintenance work at Arlington National Cemetery. This year’s work included the application of more than 120 tons of lime, the installation of trees, shrubs, and mulching within the extensive gardens, and the aeration and irrigation repair throughout the hallowed grounds.
Taking place on Monday, July 9th, these services were donated by over 400 representatives from 100+ companies throughout the United States. This is a day that we take the opportunity to show our pride, dedication, and patriotism to our nation and community in the largest green industry day of service throughout the entire country. Arlington National Cemetery is known for its rolling hills and majestic landscapes, making this tribute especially important as we respect the service and sacrifice those laid to rest have given to us.
As a local company, we feel that contributing to our community is essential as we grow. Participating in this national event is just one way we look to give back as support to America’s troops. Green Lawn also participates in GreenCare for Troops, an on-going, nationwide program coordinated by Project Evergreen. This program connects us to PLANET members and other green industry professionals with military families that have members serving overseas. As a volunteer in this program, Green Lawn Fertilizing is actively looking forward to spending our professional time and services to military families in need of green care!
